Boys State (Scroll down to see Oratorical Contest & Legacy Fund)...
American Legion Boys State has been a program of The American Legion since 1935 when it was organized to counter the Fascist inspired Young Pioneer Camps.
The American Legion Auxiliary sponsors a similar program for young ladies called Girls State.
American Legion Boys State is among the most respected and selective educational programs of government instruction for high school students. It is a participatory program where each participant becomes a part of the operation of his local, county and state government.

Oratorical Contest
The American Legion Oratorical Contest exists to develop deeper knowledge and appreciation for the U.S. Constitution among high school students. Since 1938, the program has presented participants with an academic speaking challenge that teaches important leadership qualities, the history of our nation’s laws, the ability to think and speak clearly, and an understanding of the duties, responsibilities, rights and privileges of American citizenship.

2021 American Legion Oratorical Contest
Do you know of a high school student that has strong convictions about being an American citizen and can share those convictions in a convincing manner. Would they like a shot at winning over $28,000 in scholarships for the University of his or her choice? With a couple of short speeches, they could make us proud. Check out the National 2021 Oratorical Contest application here. I must have the application to Department NLT 13 Jan, 2021.
